Data & Account Deletion
How to request deletion of your Skoolia account and personal data, what is removed, and how long it takes.
Your Right to Deletion
Skoolia (operated by BARCIDS LIMITED, Company No. IE637797) lets you request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it. This page explains how to make that request from the Skoolia mobile app or the web platform, what we delete, and what we may be legally required to keep.
Skoolia is used by schools to manage their students, staff, and families. In most cases your school is the owner (controller) of the school's records, so some deletions — especially of official student or staff records — may need to be made or approved by your school administrator. We will always help facilitate a valid request.
How to Request Deletion
Option 1 — Email us
Send a deletion request to privacy@skoolia.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Data Deletion Request". Tell us whether you want your entire account deleted or only specific data. We may ask you to verify your identity before we proceed.
Option 2 — From your account
If you sign in on the web, open the Privacy section of your account settings to request data export or deletion directly. School administrators can also delete a student's, guardian's, or staff member's account from the school's admin tools.
What We Delete
When we action a full account deletion, we permanently remove the personal data we hold for that account, including:
- • Profile details (name, email, phone, avatar)
- • Login credentials and authentication records
- • Account-linked records such as attendance, grades, messages, and communication history, subject to the retention exceptions below
- • App preferences and device session tokens
What We May Need to Keep
Some information may be retained after a deletion request where the law or a school's obligations require it:
- • Academic records that a school must keep under education regulations (typically retained per school policy).
- • Financial records (invoices, payments) retained for tax and audit purposes, typically 7 years.
- • Security logs needed to detect and prevent abuse, kept for a limited period.
Where we retain data under one of these exceptions, we keep only what is necessary and delete it once the obligation ends.
How Long It Takes
We aim to confirm and complete valid deletion requests within 30 days. If a request is complex or involves your school as the data owner, we will keep you informed of the timeline.
For full details of how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
