Troubleshoot an incomplete school timetable by checking weekly periods, teacher availability, rooms and generation scope.

Before you start

For School owners, Administrators, Operations managers

  • Have the latest generation report and permission to edit scheduling inputs.
  • Confirm the academic year and classes you intended to generate.

Read the result before changing inputs

Review required, placed and unplaced periods for the selected classes. Note which class and subject are affected and any explanation shown. A high completion percentage can still leave required lessons missing.

Check weekly periods and class capacity

Compare each class’s total requested periods with the teaching slots in its week. Count lessons, not clock hours: four 45-minute lessons require four weekly periods. Exclude breaks and other unavailable slots.

Check the assigned teacher

Confirm that each affected subject has the correct teacher and that the teacher is available for enough suitable slots. Review their other classes and existing timetable commitments; a teacher cannot teach two classes at once.

Check room requirements and blocked times

Review required room types, room availability and blocked periods. Distinguish a preferred time from a genuine requirement. Change a requirement only when the school approves the change.

Correct the cause and generate again

Correct the relevant input, confirm the class scope and academic year, then run generation again. Compare the new report with the previous result. Repeating unchanged, impossible requirements does not resolve the cause.

Review before sharing

Inspect class and teacher views, remaining unplaced lessons and validation messages. Review manual changes too. Share a timetable only after the responsible staff have checked that it meets school requirements.
