Before you start
For Administrators, Registrars, Operations managers, School owners
- Prepare your curriculum subject list and teacher assignments.
- Know the number and duration of teaching periods in the school week.
Create your subjects
Open Subjects and add the subjects used by your school. Use recognisable names and check for duplicates before adding a subject.
Check curriculum and grade links
Set the applicable grade levels and curriculum details where your school uses them. Keep subject names consistent across classes and imported files.
Assign a teacher per class and subject
Use class teacher-assignment controls or guided scheduling setup. Confirm who teaches each required subject in each class. A teacher’s profile or homeroom assignment alone is not a complete teaching assignment.
Enter weekly periods
Open the weekly-hours or weekly-periods section in scheduling setup. The quota is the number of lesson periods per week. For example, four 45-minute lessons means 4 periods, not 3 clock hours.
Check the weekly total
Add up each class’s subject periods and compare with its available teaching slots. Check specialist room and teacher availability before generation; excessive demand cannot fit into a smaller week.
Good practice
- Resolve missing teachers before timetable generation.
- Use the same period definition in your import file and school-period settings.
- Recheck quotas when adding an elective or changing the school week.
