Before you start

For School owners, Administrators, Operations managers, Registrars, Teachers, Finance teams

  • Confirm the school’s approved academic calendar.
  • Changing school year settings requires appropriate administration access.

Check the displayed academic year

Look at the academic-year label in the workspace. Where your role permits switching and more than one year exists, choose the year you need. Some roles see only the current year.

Check the page filters

On the relevant page, review class, term, date and search filters. A record missing from the current view is not proof that it was deleted. Confirm the student or class belongs to the year you are viewing.

For administrators: review year and term dates

Use the academic-year settings to review the school’s year names, start and end dates, and terms. Check suggested term dates against the actual school calendar before saving.

Separate viewing from changing the active year

Selecting a year for your own view is different from making it the school’s active year. Coordinate an active-year change with the responsible administrator and review the on-screen confirmation.

Prepare a new year deliberately

Review the class and subject tools for copying from a previous year where available. Check copied items, teacher assignments and student placement separately. Creating a year does not establish that every record has been carried forward.
