Before you start
For Administrators, School owners
- An authorised school administrator needs access to the school’s Meta business assets and phone number.
- Connect the number for this school, not a number owned by an unrelated organisation.
- Check Meta’s current eligibility and charges before connecting or sending.
Open WhatsApp settings
Open Settings → Integrations and the WhatsApp connection settings. Confirm that you are in the school whose number you intend to connect.
Choose Connect your number
Start the guided Meta signup from Skoolia. Select the available connection option that fits your number and follow Meta’s prompts. Use school-owned business assets throughout.
Complete Meta verification
Select or create the appropriate WhatsApp Business Account and verify the phone number when prompted. Return to Skoolia to finish the connection. Do not treat closing the Meta window as proof of success.
Check connection status
Wait for the settings screen to show that the connection is verified. Check the displayed number and resolve any pending action, including Meta payment setup where required.
Verify sending and receiving
With an authorised test recipient, send a suitable message and have them reply. Check that the reply arrives in this school’s WhatsApp inbox. Staff should use only the school and conversations they are authorised to access.
Review templates and provider requirements
Use an approved template when required by Meta’s current messaging rules. Check template status, language and variables before sending. Consult Meta’s current business messaging pricing for provider charges.
Configure automation separately
A working connection supports messaging; it does not automatically activate fee or absence reminders. Before relying on an automation, verify its rule, approved template, recipients, schedule and delivery with your administrator or Skoolia support.

- Each school should connect and verify its own number.
- Start with a small, authorised messaging test before a wider rollout.
- Keep Meta credentials and verification codes private.
- Check existing-number eligibility in the guided flow before attempting a migration or coexistence setup.
