Set up Meta Business Account

Go to business.facebook.com and create a Meta Business Account if you don't have one. Register for WhatsApp Business API in the Meta Developer Portal and verify your business.

Connect WhatsApp in Skoolia

Navigate to Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp. Choose "Connect with Facebook" (recommended) or Manual Configuration. For Facebook Login, click the button and authorize access to your WhatsApp Business Account.

Verify your phone number

Register and verify the phone number you'll use for WhatsApp Business messaging. This is the number parents will see when they receive messages.

Create message templates

In Meta Business Manager → WhatsApp Manager → Message Templates, create templates for common notifications: absence alerts, fee reminders, and attendance confirmations. Templates require Meta approval (typically 24-48 hours).

Sync templates to Skoolia

Once templates are approved, go to Communication → WhatsApp → Templates → "Sync from Meta" to import them into Skoolia.

Go to Communication → WhatsApp → Automations. Create rules that trigger WhatsApp notifications based on events: student absence, fee due, or missing attendance submission.

Configure quiet hours

Set quiet hours (e.g., 9 PM - 7 AM) to ensure automated messages don't disturb parents outside reasonable hours.
